Vemana satakam is one of the most prominent and eminent work of “Kumaragiri Vemareddy” popularly known as Yogi Vemana, a famous Telugu poet.
He is a famous telugu poet and philosopher, who used simple colloquial langague in his poems about the essence of life, which is relevant even today. “Stakam” in Telugu means a collection of 100 poems. As they are written by Yogi Vemana, his satakas are known by his name as Vemana Satakam.
Each poem is writing in simple and easy to remember language with a deep routed meaning. It has only 4 lines, with the last line being “Viswadabhirama Vinura Vema” – a chorus, which meant “The beloved of Vishwada, Listen O Vemana!!”
Here, I tried to put together a collection of a few poems along with their meaning in English.
