The Ram Mandir

The Ram Mandir has been inaugurated. Everyone is so excited about it. Not only the Hindus but also the people belonging to different religions are happy and supportive about it. Not only the Indians but also the people around the world are chanting Lord Ram’s holy names. The chants of Ram  naam are echoing from across the globe. It is extremely encouraging and inspiring to see this enthusiasm in the hearts of the people. The streets of every part of the country are beautifully decorated with garlands of flowers and Ram flags. This is one of those great moments when all the people from around the country come together and celebrate irrespective of their differences.  

On this auspicious occasion, it is vital for us to understand that a temple is not just a building with a beautiful idol of the Lord. This Ram Mandir should not become a mere tourist place where you go on vacations, click pictures for your social media and forget about it. It should become a part of our consciousness. This process should not end here. Now, it is our duty to install Lord Rama in our hearts too. It is time to absorb ourselves in Rama bhakti. This mood of devotion and service towards the Lord should not be allowed to go away. We must hold on to this mood of selfless service for the rest of our life. 

This temple should remind us of our sanatan dharma. There are two dharmas-

Swadharma : Our worldly duties of being a son/ daughter, mother/father, brother/sister, husband/wife etc. 

Sanatan dharma : Our spiritual duties of rendering selfless service to the Lord and going to back Him.

In today’s world, we are so entangled in our swadharma that we forget to devote time to our sanatan dharma. But ideally, both our dharmas should go parallely and this temple should remind us and motivate us to take our sanatan dharma seriously.
