Ancient Indian scriptures are the beacon of knowledge in this age of ignorance. We can literally find the answer to every problem in them. We just need to take a step and read them sincerely with apt attention. However, we have started to defy them now. We have started to work against their teachings. A happy life is the one which is in perfect alignment with the scriptures.
The most famous of all the scriptures is The Bhagavad Gita. This is considered the holy book of the hindus but this book is not just for a particular group of people. The wisdom contained in this book is for each and everyone. Every verse of the Bhagavad Gita can be used in our life. Each verse has so much wisdom in them. Just like when we get confused about which road to take, we use the GPS. Similarly, whenever we feel lost and confused, this book can navigate our way to reach our desired goal. Interestingly, The Bhagavad Gita holds different meanings for different people. This is based on what type of attitude they are reading the Gita with. Infact, it holds different meanings when read at different points in time.
The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna says that one who understands the wisdom contained in this book, he or she has understood the essence of all the knowledge in this world. All the scriptures say that if we have to read only one book then it has to be The Bhagavad Gita. It has so much knowledge that can help us to deal with every aspect of our life. It can solve every problem.
However, in today’s world, we see that people are alienating from this ancient treasure, the ancient wisdom. People nowadays focus more on adopting the western culture and are running away from these gems of India. There is a sanskrit shloka that tells about the importance of our scriptures for all of us. The shloka goes as follows:
aneka sanshay uchedi paroksharthasya darshakam
sarvasva lochanam shastram yasya nastya andha eva saha
Translation: The book which removes many doubts and which tells the meaning of everything is the eye of all. A person is blind who does not have the scriptures.
This means that the scriptures give us vision. They help us perceive life with a greater perspective. They truly are the eyes of all. A person who does not have the knowledge of these scriptures, can be considered blind.
So, let us turn towards the true wisdom that is contained in our scriptures and live a better and more fulfilled life. Every problem in this world has a solution but it needs wisdom to find that solution and that wisdom can be found in our ancient scriptures.
