You seemed intimidating,
Days were bustling, with school and homework,
Those trails seemed immense,
Now mere trifles in retrospect.
Dear life, at twenty, I yearned for love,
To find a heart to share my bliss,
Heartache poured like rain,
With each quest for true affection.
Dear life, at twenty-five, the world stretched wide,
Journeys to embark on, a name to mark,
Soaring goals, mounting strains,
Nights overwhelmed with tears, dreams not reached.
Dear life, with thirty came wedding bells,
Vows were made, promises exchanged,
Yet, hope occasionally dimmed,
Marriage, a fragile and fine tapestry.
Dear life, at thirty five, earnest prayers uttered,

Here today, gone tomorrow.

Still that little girl, dreaming high,
Through every age, each phase,
You led me through battles,
Victory not always clear,
Yet challenges come and go.
