Dried leaf

Dried leaf

Dried flowers only remind you
There is more to life
Than beauty, which gradually fades
But what still stays alive
Is the moment which is with
Us as a memory which comes back.
They lose their colour or the fragrance
But dried flowers are found in pages for remembrance.
I remember the first time you gave that beautiful flower
While doing so you had said
Keep this with you
Till life does us apart.
Many years have gone by
I still keep it with me
Telling you I still have the moment alive as a precious memory.
What still lingers on is the fragrance
That in years did fade
But just a little flower started and an endless escapade.
It has given value to just a simple book on my rack
That I take out not to read
But feel and live the lovely moment back to back.
