A Bird

A Bird
"A Bird"There's a bird that flies across skies
Unbound, unshackled,
Eats sunshine for food
And stars soaked in moonlight for drink
Now she's caged, or she feels so,
By her raw emotions that eat away at her ripe
Her insecurities nibbling away at her claws
Want of love
Need of being understood
And accepted with no apologies
Probably validated by emotions reciprocated
And if I may, scratched by her own
There's a bird
Tired of flying on her own
Bled dry with stabs and scars
In need of a nest with no shackles
No judgment, no poison
A short rendition of familiarity
And she's in tears
She longs to smile without the fear of wearing it off
For want of pirouettes in a sky that doesn't taint her wings
She's so easily replaced
Now she wonders if she's a bad investor
Perhaps, who knows, she should know better.
There's a bird, she flies high
She screams, and dances, and sings,
Alone albeit, but content in her own company
She'll find her family
Soon...someone says...soon.
